Free Bag

Apparently we don't get T-shirts for this race (well, unless you want to buy one with this not very attractive logo on it). But we do get free backpacks...Just got mine in the mail yesterday:

I was never a runner. Once in 2005 - I tried to be. I started running, signed up for a 5k and I finished it. Then I stopped. In 2008, some friends were going to run the Great Wall of China Marathon and I somehow convinced myself to give it a try. So off to China I went and ran the GWC half marathon! I fell in love. I loved running in a new country, meeting runners from all over the world, and that feeling you get when crossing the finish line. And so, naturally, when my friend asked me if I wanted to run in Antarctica [shortly after returning from China], I said YES! Sign me up. Now...almost 4 years later, we are actually doing it. And reality JUST barely hit me that I'm going to be running in 6 short weeks and I'm no where near ready! I'm not even in as good of shape as when I signed up nearly 4 years ago! But somehow, someway, I'm going to do this thing! Follow along as I try to figure out how to run 26.2 Miles in the South Pole with the penguins.
